UAE: Oasis Enterprises PPD has recently completed the installation of audio, video and lighting systems for the new auditorium at Al Raha International School in Abu Dhabi. The solution was designed by Archen Engineering.

The audio side of the solution is based around FBT cabinets. Arrays of four Mitus 206LA active cabinets flown below a Mitus 118FS active sub hang either side of the stage. Stage, side and rear-fills are taken care of by the manufacturer’s J8A loudspeakers while stage monitoring is via Stage MA 12MA wedges and 8250A cabinets provide control room monitors. The system is processed via FBT’s DLM26 DSP and controlled using a Soundcraft Si Expression 3 console. A Rane MLM103 mic and line mixer and Shure ULX wireless microphones complete the sound system.

The auditorium’s A/V control is via Crestron’s AV2 multimedia control processor which is managed through an Apple iPad. A DataVideo ITC-100 wireless intercom solution has also been installed at the venue.

The video solution calls heavily on DataVideo products. The manufacturer’s SE-3000 video switcher is at the heart of the solution, while its PTZ cameras, HDR-70 recorder and TLM-702 rack mounted LCD monitor are also called into action. The rest of the signal chain includes a Christie projector, TVOne MX-6388 matrix switcher, Denon Blu-ray player and a DaLite motorised screen.

The lighting side of the project sees GDS provide the house lights processed by an ETC Paradigm P-ACP. Theatrical lighting, dimmers and control are all via ETC with Color Source Par fixtures controlled with an Ion console and Unison dimmers.

Away from the equipment, Oasis also took responsibility for the room’s acoustics with wall and ceiling panels. In addition to this, other highlights for the integrator included the orchestra pit, custom-designed catwalk and seating solutions.

Time was the critical factor for the project with the Oasis PPD team needing to work closely with other contractors to ensure the auditorium was delivered on time.

Following the installation of the system, the school is reportedly very happy with the end result as all of its requests were met.
